Meet Tucson Prosthodontist Dr. Howard M. Steinberg
Howard M. Steinberg, DMD, MDS, is a prosthodontist who has been practicing in Tucson since 1985. A prosthodontist is a dentist who has additionally pursued specialty training in cosmetic dentistry, implant prosthodontics, and complex restorative dentistry.
Dr. Steinberg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree. He then undertook a three-year training program in prosthodontics, earning a Master of Dental Science (MDS) degree. After dental school, he completed a one-year fellowship in maxillofacial prosthetics at the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine. This gave him specialized training in replacing missing teeth. He treats patients who are fully or partially without teeth and patients with complex dental needs.
Continuing Education
Arizona requires that dentists complete 21 hours each year of continuing education. Dr. Steinberg completes over ten times that much—more than 250 hours per year to stay informed about new techniques and advancing technology.
Dr. Steinberg is the founder and director of the Tucson Advanced Cosmetic and Restorative Dental Study Club. He’s a member of the Spear Study Club and the Pima Dental Study Club. He is also a member of the Arizona state dental continuing education committee.
Dr. Steinberg is also a faculty member at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in the Department of Surgery.
